UTAS Clubs and societies day
The university held the annual clubs and societies day yesterday. Lots of uni students attended. The judo stall was noticed by all with it's large banners, thanks to Dan for organising those.
There was a lot of interest and five newcomers attended Wednesday's training session.
Even independent MP Andrew Wilkie was getting enthusiastic and tried on a black belt - have a look in the gallery.
On another note, congratulations to Laura for winning a few medals at the ACT, Canberra International Open Competition.

Sensei Dans quick calculations
Keeping in mind the seniors have Friday night as an extra night for training to make up the extra hours.
Well done to all the juniors making the effort to show up on both Monday and Wednesday! The extra hours will definitely pay off.

The adidas J930 IJF Approved Gi with Optical Label is the heaviest gi in the range, available in white and blue. Originally $249.95 for white and $279.95 for blue, this gi has been reduced to $199.95 for white and $220.00 for blue, a HUGE saving!
For those who prefer something a little lighter, the adidas J650 is a great option. A heavy single weave available in white and blue, the J650 has been reduced from $159.95 to $139.95 for white and from $179.95 to $159.95 for blue.

Online JFAT registration
JFAT has introduced an on-line registration system. You can register and check and edit your JFAT registration at this site. The site will generate a renewal notice fourteen days before registration payment is due. Please use this facility responsibly as inaccurate details will mean more work for club volunteers. Choose your passwords on this site carefully as HUJC and JFAT administrators can see them! As yet there is no link from the JFAT website to the registration site.
Online registrationPlease assemble in the gym foyer
Can you help?
At the moment the bulk of the work associated with running the club falls on half a dozen committed volunteers. We are in real need of a few more. Andreas has built a really nice website for us but needs to focus on other aspects of his life. Colin has indicated that he is willing to co-manage the site but not take full responsibility for the work.
From time to time we will also need people who can help run events, bake, fetch and carry maintain member details, drive to competitions etc. Please let Sensei Dan, Shaun or Rosie know if you are willing to help out or have ideas to help strengthen HUJC.
