Sensei Dans quick calculations

In September junior judokas trained for a total of 70 hours and the senior judokas trained for 99 hours. In total there was 169 hours of hard judo training, well done all those who attended in September!
Keeping in mind the seniors have Friday night as an extra night for training to make up the extra hours.
Well done to all the juniors making the effort to show up on both Monday and Wednesday! The extra hours will definitely pay off.
Regards, Dan

Laura has earned her first national selection

The club now has new blue and yellow mats installed on the floor. These replace the well used ten year old mats. The new mats are on the firm side but will soften up nicely with a little use.

Online JFAT registration

JFAT has introduced an on-line registration system. You can register and check and edit your JFAT registration at this site. The site will generate a renewal notice fourteen days before registration payment is due. Please use this facility responsibly as inaccurate details will mean more work for club volunteers. Choose your passwords on this site carefully as HUJC and JFAT administrators can see them! As yet there is no link from the JFAT website to the registration site.

Please assemble in the gym foyer

The Unigym has requested that HUJC members assemble in the foyer while waiting for other classes to finish. This is particularly to allow classes such as body balance to make the most of relaxation components of their classes. Please help out by explaining this change to junior members in your family.

Can you help?

At the moment the bulk of the work associated with running the club falls on half a dozen committed volunteers. We are in real need of a few more. Andreas has built a really nice website for us but needs to focus on other aspects of his life. Colin has indicated that he is willing to co-manage the site but not take full responsibility for the work.

From time to time we will also need people who can help run events, bake, fetch and carry maintain member details, drive to competitions etc. Please let Sensei Dan, Shaun or Rosie know if you are willing to help out or have ideas to help strengthen HUJC.

Training for older junior boys and girls

Older and more experienced juniors sometimes become bored in the Wednesday class as they do not have the opportunity to develop their skills to the next level. If this is your child you may want to think about attending on Monday or Friday at 6.00 p.m.

Grading Success

Recognition goes to Senior Judoka Asae and Andreas who have recently graded to senior green belt and to Colin who took up the challenge and now has an orange belt.
